Pablo Ruiz y Picasso was born in Malaga, Spain on October 25, 1881. He showed great talent at art even as a child, however, he really blossomed when he moved to Paris early in the 1900's.
His career lasted more than 70 years being separated into a number of different categories depending on his mood and the artistic movement at the time. In the early 1900's after moving to Paris he used a lot of blue in his works, and this was known as his "Blue Period." After that he had a "Rose Period," and then he produced some works inspired by primitive art. However, it was his use of Cubism which first caught the public's eye. On April 8, 1973, Picasso died in Antibes, France.
