Hand-painted oil reproduction of Francois Boucher's Mademoiselle O'Murphy
Francois Boucher (1703-1770) painted this portrait of Mademoiselle Louise O'Murphy in 1751. Boucher favored the Rococo style, and he is known for his voluptuous paintings and idyllic, classical themes. He was favored by the French court, especially so by his patroness, Madame de Pompadour, the mistress of the French king, Louis XV. Mademoiselle O'Murphy attempted to replace her rival, but was unsuccessful.
